“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully” (Romans 12:4-8).
I love what Carl Chapman shared in church this morning about loving one another, serving one another in love, and honoring one another above yourselves. As we pray for a new pastor for LLWC, let’s remember that The Right Pastor is also praying for the right church for him! God has the right pastor in mind for us. He is preparing himself to come to LLWC, and we must prepare our hearts and church for him. So while we wait for God’s perfect timing, let’s serve one another in love and use the different gifts that God has given us. And of course, “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
