October 29: Updates

In addition to the announcements below:

Nov 17th: Our Thanksgiving community outreach dinner will be Sat. Nov. 17.  We’ll need help with food and serving.  Thanks to all who have offered to help so far.

Dec 2nd: the creche opening will be in front of town hall immediately following the morning worship. We are invited to join the other churches for a pot luck meal in the town hall immediately following that. Thank God we are still able to express our freedom to do this in Long Lake and pray that it will continue!

Dec 8th: a select ensemble of 8 to 10 voices will be singing 3 or 4 Christmas carols with Judy Garrison leading at our 6 pm service. Come for this special presentation that night. Bunny and Joyce have been attending the practices along with 7 others. Sunday the 9th and Sunday the 16th they will be singing in St Henry’s and Calvary Methodist churches.

October 24: Update

Women’s Bible study is held on Wednesday mornings at 9:00, and meets in the Fellowship Hall. We’ve had a great turnout; join us as we encourage each other! Contact Joyce if you’d like more information.

Saturday, October 27th – join us at 8:00 AM for a breakfast of pancakes and sausage. Then we’ll do some projects around the church. See Greg for more info.

Saturday, October 27th – Chili and baked potatoes, Saturday night at 5:00 PM at LLW. Invite your friends. Share your ideas for a different baked potato topping.

Halloween – Trunk or Treat will be at the church on Halloween night from 6 to 8 pm and is an excellent outreach opportunity for our community. Please plan to be at the church with your trunk full of treats and mingle with the families that stop by. If you want to really get into the spirit then decorate your car! Long Lake needs to see how many caring people we have at our church offering the love of Jesus on this night!

Monday mornings – come to help clean the church, or sign up for a specific job (like dusting, straightening pew books, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming upstairs or downstairs).

Please pray for Bunny and the Austin family as they mourn the loss of Bunny’s great-grandson.

Community Garden – how will you use this produce to reach out and encourage a neighbor to hear of God’s love?

October 13: Update

Check out the photos from today’s breakfast with the Thedes, missionaries to Haiti. And see recent photos of this year’s harvest in the Community Garden. We harvested 69 bushels of potatoes (3600 pounds!). God has been very good to us! Have you shared some of this produce with a neighbor and invited them to church?

Join us for our Fall series: If the Christian life was a fishing trip in a Guide Boat, you would want a full stringer, right? If you have ever wondered what you would need to do to win the fishing tourney, then wonder no longer. We are exploring each of the ten fish we need to land together from the Brookie Trout to the Largemouth Bass. Invite your friends on Sunday mornings at 11:00 to hear the series on catching all ten of the best fish in Long Lake!

Guide Boat Saturday nights now at 6:00 PM following the 5:00 PM Potato Night Dinner — join us for lessons on marriage and parenting.

Wesleyan Youth (grades 7-12) meet following the music. The King’s Kids (elementary age) also meet during this time.

New Women’s Bible study has started. See Amy Gocke or Joyce Bozak for details.

Come to Prayer meetings on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM at the church as we explore the topic of “Spiritual Warfare” in the Bible.

Halloween – plan trunk candy giving in our church parking lot for Halloween. This is a tremendous outreach opportunity!

Thanksgiving – our Community Thanksgiving Dinner is planned for November 17th. Please plan to join us!
