Scriptures for “Jesus: God of creation” (May 17th 2020)

Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So, he is first in everything. (Colossians 1:18 NLT)

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. (Ephesians 1:22)

As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” (Mark 4:35 NLT)

So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). (Mark 4:36 NLT)

But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” (Mark 4:37-38 NLT)

You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. (Proverbs 3:24 NLT)

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. (Psalm 4:8 NLT)

Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? (Mark 4:40 NLT).

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 NLT)

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. (1 John 5:4 NLT)

When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39 NLT).

The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!” (Luke 8:25).
