Praying for LLWC and a new Pastor

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully” (Romans 12:4-8).

I love what Carl Chapman shared in church this morning about loving one another, serving one another in love, and honoring one another above yourselves. As we pray for a new pastor for LLWC, let’s remember that The Right Pastor is also praying for the right church for him! God has the right pastor in mind for us. He is preparing himself to come to LLWC, and we must prepare our hearts and church for him. So while we wait for God’s perfect timing, let’s serve one another in love and use the different gifts that God has given us. And of course, “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

LLWC is considering for it’s next study: Outlive your life : you were made to make a difference, by Max Lucado. This book encourages those with little financial power or stability to live the life God wanted and begin a revolution in which all members of humanity, including the poor and destitute, are accepted, loved, and helped by Christians.

“These are difficult days in our world’s history. 1.75 billion people are desperately poor, natural disasters are gouging entire nations, and economic uncertainty still reigns across the globe. But you and I have been given an opportunity to make a big difference. What if we did? What if we rocked the world with hope? Infiltrated all corners with God’s love and life? We are created by a great God to do great works. He invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven, but here on earth. Let’s live our lives in such a way that the world will be glad we did. One hundred percent of the author’s royalties from Outlive Your Life products will benefit children and families through World Vision and other ministries of faith-based compassion” (from the publisher).

Please contact Bunny Austin if you’re interested in studying this book. A date will be set when we have enough interest. Study materials will be provided.
