On October 8, 2016, many hands gathered to make light work of digging up potatoes, carrots, etc.
Here’s a rough breakdown of statistics from this year:
- 3000# cabbage
- 1800# carrots
- 2500# potatoes, about half of expected owing to drought
- 2000# winter squash
- 400 head broccoli plus half that again in weight of side shoots
- 1500 leeks
- many bushels of field corn for corn meal
- Considerable assorted vegetables and herbs.
On October 29th, we gathered to pack 90 paper sacks with potatoes, carrots, and winter squash to distribute to several communities.
