Myles and Anna Bodisch, along with their two children, were settled in their North American life. Throughout the years Myles was making short-term mission trips to Haiti. During these trips, he often felt that he needed to give more to God’s work in Haiti, but he would come up with many excuses on why he could not do more. After returning home from a trip to Haiti in the fall of 2013, Myles says that God was done with excuses and it was time for him to give his skills and abilities back to God’s work.
After one of Myles’ trips to Haiti, Anna says they were talking about his experiences there when she had an image of their family living in Haiti, which she did not share with Myles. She was not surprised when, about a year later, he came home from another short-term trip and said, “I think we should move to Haiti.”
Myles and Anna decided to step out in faith to follow God to Haiti. In April 2014 Global Partners appointed them to serve as intern missionaries to Haiti. Their desire is to use their skills to serve God alongside the people of Haiti and to encourage them to use their talents and abilities to serve God and their neighbors.
Myles and Anna have two children: Ayana (’02) and Waylon (’05).
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV).
